Victron SBS050150200 wireless battery voltage and temperature sensor for Victron MPPT Solar Chargers. Victron voltage & temperature sense will charge batteries better, prolonging battery life and improving charging-efficiency.
Victron Smart Battery Sense improves battery charging by measuring voltage at the battery bank terminals, to avoid any errors due to voltage-loss from cable resistance; ensuring the correct charge-voltage.
Installation is simple, quick and tidy. Easily connect the unit's 2 eyelets to your battery terminals and attach the Smart Battery Sense unit directly onto the body of you battery using the self-adhesive strip.
The connection between Victron Smart Battery Sense and one or more Solar Charger(s) is wireless, it uses the Victron VE.Smart Network - a wireless technology based on Bluetooth Smart.
For lead batteries, the battery temperature data is used to adjust charge-voltages for example: cold batteries require an increased charge-voltage, and hot batteries require a decreased charge-voltage. Lithium battery temperature data is used to disable charging when they are too cold because charging lithium batteries near or below freezing causes permanent damage to the battery cells.
Information transmitted can be used simultaneously by one, two or more Solar Chargers connected to the same 12V, 24V and 48V battery bank. The Smart Network is set up using the VictronConnect app.
